About
Molkit is a browser-based tool for drawing chemistry structures, reaction mechanisms, and animations. It runs entirely client-side in your browser, so there is no upload and no server-side processing of your work. You draw on a canvas, export to SVG, PNG, or PDF, and save your work as a .mkit file. The editor is at https://molkit.com/, and this documentation lives at https://docs.molkit.com/.
What is Molkit
Molkit covers structure drawing (bonds, rings, projections, shapes, arrows, and text), reaction mechanisms, and an animation engine that can export animated SVG and video. It supports multiple tabs, undo and redo, structure presets, element color schemes, and font embedding for exports. Files are saved in the .mkit format.
